Decay: Redux

Premise:

The world has already fallen.

At the center of the collapse lies Location 0 — the first confirmed site of the infection and the place where the outbreak spread beyond containment. Years after the quarantine zone was bombed and abandoned, the ruins remain overrun by the infected, cut off from the outside world.

A D.O.A.M. field team — the Department of Anomalous Material — is sent into the zone after receiving a series of fragmented transmissions from a radio tower that should have been dead for years.

The transmissions contain more than a distress signal. Embedded within them is a recurring sequence of digital code tied to the earliest records of the outbreak. D.O.A.M. believes the signal may originate from the same research surrounding the virus's emergence.

If the transmissions are genuine, Location 0 may still contain information capable of explaining what caused the outbreak — and possibly how to stop it.

The team's objective is simple: reach the tower, recover the data, and get out.
